Asia R&D Center (ARDC) Laboratory Engineer

JOB DESCRIPTION
Position: Asia R&D Center (ARDC) Laboratory Engineer
Location: Asian R&D Center Laboratory
Reports to: Manager, ARDC
Scope: Participate in and direct the Laboratory technical group in the daily operations and responsibilities necessary to maintain high quality and timely support for product development and time-to-market of new products and processes.
RESPONSIBILITIES to include but not limited to:
1. Work with lab tech leaders to assist the ARDC Manager in coordinating and assigning specific work orders and projects to the designated lab technicians in the most efficient method to support project schedules and production manufacturing on a day-to-day basis.
2. Assume duties of the laboratory manager when ARDC manager is absent or on company business.
3. Maintain work order log database as needed.
4. Worked with Project Engineers etc. implementing safety/efficiency/ automation improvement measures in lab, in order to improve lab safety, capacity and capability.
5. Order materials and supplies as necessary to support project development and interaction with procurement, outside vendors, and other sources.
6. Assist the manager with planning and developing strategies to maintain efficient use of the engineering lab’s resources (personnel and equipment).
7. Also all responsibilities as described in job description for an engineering lab technician, listed below:
1. As per assigned work orders, assemble and test products to comply with engineering specifications (hydrostatic, flex, bending moment, air, cycle, low temperature, heat aging, and any additional required tests).
2. Inspection of cast, machined, or welded components from any Victaulic facility, foreign and domestic suppliers for defects and compliance with engineering specifications and drawings for sample approval.
3. Inspection and/or testing of sample gaskets and elastomer components from foreign and domestic vendors and Victaulic elastomer producing facilities for defects and compliance with engineering specification and drawings for mold and tooling approvals.

4. Install necessary piping and components and operate instrumentation to measure performance in the flow test loop to comply with engineering specifications.
5. Set-up, program and operate Universal Test Machine.
6. Operate cut-off saw, drill press, belt sander, grinder, and other machine shop equipment, as necessary, to prepare pipe for grooving, and product testing.
7. Set up and operate all Victaulic pipe preparation and grooving tools (clean and maintain, as needed).
8. Prepare, assemble and test Victaulic products, as necessary, for agency testing per respective specifications.
9. Prepare product assemblies and perform demonstrations for customers touring the Victaulic facilities.
7. Specific policies and procedures have been established by the Engineering Department to provide for the security and accessibility of electronic data and confidential information. It is the responsibility of the employee, in the daily course of doing business, to follow said policies as they relate to document management (see EOG-26). The extent to which departmental research and development information is stored electronically has vastly increased, and will continue to do so. The new Federal rules pertaining to electronic discovery stipulate that substantive email communications constituted "records" under the Federal Records Act. It is therefore the responsibility of each departmental employee to understand their role in communicating via e-mails and that all e-mails must be written/responded to in a professional manner, as outlined in EOG-26.
QUALIFICATIONS:
1. Minimum two (2) years experience in an industrial or lab environment.
2. Bachelor or equivalent in Engineering discipline, prefer Mechanical Electrical Engineering Design.
3. Good verbal and oral English communication skills
4. Demonstrated leadership ability.
5. Have basic ability in making 3D model drawing
6. Self-motivated and self-directed toward work effort.
7. Good at communication with people, strong ability on coordination, team player, like to face challenge and study new things, have good practical operation ability.
