We’re looking for a Senior Frontend Engineer to design, build, and enhance customer-facing web applications that deliver seamless digital experiences for our users in China and globally.
About this opportunity
As a Senior Frontend Engineer, you’ll play a key role in the design, implementation, and optimization of modern, responsive, and high-performing web applications.
You’ll collaborate with product managers, UX/UI designers, backend engineers, QA, and global cross-functional teams to deliver scalable solutions that align with Align’s global digital strategy.
In this role, you will…
• Develop clean, maintainable, and well-tested frontend applications using ReactJS / Next.js / TypeScript.
• Build reusable UI components and design systems, ensuring consistency across web products.
• Integrate with backend APIs (REST or GraphQL) and collaborate closely with backend engineers to refine data contracts.
• Optimize frontend performance, accessibility, SEO, and mobile responsiveness.
• Participate in code reviews, design discussions, and architectural planning for frontend systems.
• Work closely with product and design teams to translate business and UX requirements into elegant technical solutions.
• Advocate for best practices in modern web development — testing, version control, CI/CD, and documentation.
• Contribute to technical direction, mentoring junior engineers, and fostering a culture of quality and innovation.
In this role, you’ll need …
• BS/MS degree or equivalent.
• 8+ years of software development experience, with 5+ years focused on modern frontend development.
• Strong proficiency in ReactJS, Next.js, TypeScript, JavaScript (ES6+), and HTML/CSS.
• Experience with state management libraries (Redux, Zustand, or Recoil).
• Experience with frontend testing frameworks such as Jest, React Testing Library, or Cypress.
• Familiarity with UI performance optimization, responsive design, and cross-browser compatibility.
• Experience integrating RESTful or GraphQL APIs.
• Familiarity with design systems, component-driven development, or frameworks like Storybook.
• Understanding of Agile methodologies (Scrum/Kanban) and experience working in cross-functional teams.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
• Experience with backend technologies (Node.js, Rails, or Java microservices) to understand full-stack interactions could be a plus.
