Conceptual Profile

The SUIS schools’ profile/mission is ‘East meets West’.



The strength of this mission lies in the dynamic flow of competence between the Western concept of child-centred learning and the rigor and focus of the Chinese education system.



The unique bilingual 50/50 team-teaching approach ensures that the concept of East meets West is maintained.



The Teacher’s Role

Homeroom Teacher (HRT) is one of the most important roles in our school.

The chief responsibility of the HRT is to be the primary pastoral caretaker for the children in their class:

 Taking responsibility for daily attendance reporting & recording

 Tracking & monitoring student progress throughout the curriculum

 Coordinating, monitoring, and appraising the student homework diary / home-school communication system

 Being the primary school contact person for parents of children in their class

 Monitoring student welfare at all times



Homeroom Curriculum

 Identify, plan, manage and oversee the curriculum structure of Homeroom lessons.

 The Western HRT will plan and teach the English Curriculum and IT. The Eastern HRT will plan and teach the Chinese Curriculum and Civics Lessons. Both teachers will co-teach Math and IPC with the Eastern teacher taking responsibility for planning Math and the Western teacher taking responsibility for planning the IPC units of Enquiry,

 Facilitating the Student Profile through Homeroom lessons.

 Advise other teachers and the SEN Coordinator as to the unique learning needs of children in their class.

 Wherever possible, to ensure that the Homeroom curriculum reflects the spirit of East meets West.

 Lead their class in preparation for assemblies and other major school functions.

2.大学本科以上，有海外留学和工作经验优先；

3.热爱教学工作，有相关教师资格证
