Responsibilities:
- In conjunction with HSE Officer, ensure construction contractor’s working within his discipline understand and adhere to the project HSE plan, safety instructions, site regulations and the permit to work procedure. Ensure that there is adequate supervision by contractor on site to maintain proper levels of safety.
- Review the availability of all drawings, specifications, job instructions, material deliveries and tools. Together with the contractor’s planning engineers and the client Construction Engineer to develop detailed daily and weekly work plans in accordance with the overall planning schedule. Advise the Discipline Superintendent on specific areas where the programme needs to be adjusted in accordance with site conditions and material deliveries.
- Continually review material and equipment deliveries and report discrepancies and/or shortages to the Discipline Superintendent and Material Controller.
- Ensure proper control of changes by assisting the Discipline Superintendent to issue Field Instruction for all changes, reviewing TQ to ensure responses are appropriate and practical.
- Ensure that contractor carries out and records all quality control checks, inspections and tests as detailed in project quality plan, specifications and inspection and test plans. Ensure all quality documentation is available for handover dossiers..
- Carry out progressive punch listing to ensure that the works are completed prior to acceptance.
- Review contractor’s manpower resources and coordinate requirements with Discipline Superintendent in a timely fashion to ensure no loss of productivity. Continually monitor the need for contractor overtime and obtain the approval of Discipline Superintendent when required.
- Assist Discipline Superintendent in preparing all reports relative to the work progress in his area and attend progress meetings as required.
Requirements:
- Bachelor/College’s degree or relevant
- 5+ years related experience of Project and Construction Management in China and internationally in oil&gas/petrochemical /chemical/ pharmaceutical or related industry
- Be familiar with relevant Chinese and international codes and standards
- Fluent speaking and writing in English
- A team player with strong interpersonal skills
- Be able to work under pressure to meet challenging objectives on Mega-Projects
- Be willing to be assigned to work on domestic project.
- Experience in international engineering company is preferred
