Formally established in June 2022, the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology (Guangzhou)(HKUST(GZ)) is a cooperatively-run university between the Chinese mainland and the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region. HKUST(GZ) has obtained approval from the Ministry of Education (MoE) and become the first legally-independent educational institution co-established by the Mainland and Hong Kong since the announcement and implementation of the “Outline Development Plan for the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area” and the “Overall Plan for Deepening Globally Oriented Comprehensive Co-operation amongst Guangdong, Hong Kong and Macao in Nansha of Guangzhou”. With a spirit of pioneering innovation, HKUST(GZ) charts new territories in cross-disciplinary education and explores new frontiers in pedagogies, aiming to serve as a role model of the mainland-Hong Kong integrated educational development and become a world-famous high-level university, endeavoring to nurture future-oriented, high-level and innovative talents.
In response to the increasingly complex challenges faced by the rapidly changing world, HKUST(GZ) adopts a brand-new and cross-disciplinary academic structure featuring “Hub” and “Thrust” to substitute the conventional one characterized by “school” and “department”, facilitating cross-disciplinary integration while vigorously developing emerging and frontier disciplines. This is a groundbreaking move in the higher education community across the globe.
 
Duties
Major responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:
1. Highbay Space Management Support
• Manage daily Highbay operations.
• Train users on instrument/facility use and support research/teaching activities.
• Assist students with research, data collection, and experiment support.
• Complex mechanical modeling and modification.
• Independently organize and execute drone formation flight performances, ensuring precision and safety in execution. And provide technical support for highbay space performances and scientific research projects to ensure their successful completion.
• Assist in the operation and maintenance of underwater equipment, such as wave generators, to support seamless performance and research activities.
• Assist with financial matters, including procurement and reimbursements.
2. Administrative Support to VPTLS
• Demonstrate educational science projects and coordinate campus tours for engaging visitor experiences.
• Organize and coordinate various events to ensure smooth execution.
3. Additional Responsibilities
• Perform other duties as assigned to support the VPTLS office objectives.

1. Bachelor's degree or above in STEM fields.
2. Solid foundation in STEM knowledge and strong writing/editing skills. Related working or internship experience is preferred.
3. Strong proficiency in using AI tools (e.g., ChatGPT) and data visualization platforms to support administrative and data analysis tasks.
4. Strong proficiency in using various office software, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
5. Strong proficiency in modeling software (e.g., SolidWorks).
6. Able to multi-task, detail-minded with good communication skills.
7. Strong sense of responsibility, high personal standards, and self-motivation. Excellent communication skills.
