Portfolio Manager
Your role and responsibilities
In this role, you will have the opportunity to manage the marketing of ABB Robotics’ offerings to targeted automation solutions in General Industry and manage the offerings throughout their lifecycle, in line with market needs and Business Line Industries’ strategy and targets. Each day, you will be accountable for the long-term profitable growth of an offer. You will also showcase your expertise by supporting business results by overseeing each step involved in the offer lifecycle including development, launch, go-to-market, maintenance, and pricing.
The work model for the role is: hybrid
This role is contributing to the global segment General Industry in the Business Line Industries of ABB Robotics. Main stakeholders are the Business Line Management and the General Industry team. You are reporting to the Global Portfolio Manager General Industry.
You will be mainly accountable for:
● Leading the market intelligence analysis and identifying potential gaps in the portfolio, with respect to the competition and new market opportunities.
● Contributing to the development of new automation solutions in the General Industry by leading the quantified value proposition, planning the roadmap to create maximum value, and following up on offering portfolio performance.
● Owning product and market specification for the offer and determining an offering business plan that supports sustainable growth while leading customer need and value analysis, planning the roadmap to create maximum value, and following up on portfolio performance.
● Leading the offer lifecycle management process, analyzing current offers, defining, and tracking performance metrics, and making decisions on offer obsolescence and end-of-life to ensure that current and future market requirements are met to maximize their profitability.
● Setting targets, monitoring offering costs and giving input to operations functions (e.g., Supply Chain Management, Engineering, Production) to maximize competitiveness and profitability.
● Driving new product market introduction and managing different channel to market scenarios in coordination with channel partners and Marketing and Sales teams to ensure the best possible market coverage

Qualifications for the role
● Advanced degree (M.Sc. or MBA) in automation technology field and 7-12+ years of product management in the segments metal fabrication, machine tending, construction, or neighboring domains.
● Proven track record in building software-enabled automation solutions from research and proof-of-concept stage to commercial product launch, managing the unique challenges of industrialization and at-scale deployment
● Ability to translate complex technical capabilities into clear, compelling customer value, supported by strong commercial instincts in pricing, planning, and profitability
● Exceptional analytical and stakeholder-management skills, aligning technical and business teams to drive impact
● You are at ease communicating in English language
