• Ensure the achievement of the entire RD project goals, as documentation, HW & SW availability, documentation maturity, parts maturity, timeline.
• Coordinate all RD- and OV-related activities for Mercedes-Benz passenger cars on New Projects (e.g. MB.EA-L incl. different Powertrains), incl. MOPF and Model Years.
• Lead as Project Lead Development (PLE) all required development activities according MDS incl. the lead vehicle of a new platform.
• Safeguard relevant project milestones in terms of maturity, costs and time.
• Steer and lead the communication and coordination of tasks between the responsible commodity group leaders, module group speakers, digital integration, vehicle functions, and cross-function groups, according to the standard project organization (SPO).
• Communicate with Project Management (SPL) and other project sub-leaders (e.g. PP, MP, Cost Planning, BBAC RD/QM/LOG/Production, BMBS, etc.), in China, Germany and India.
• Lead the FSK (vehicle steering committee). Establish a centralized testing culture within RD China, enhance the efficiency of RD overall vehicle testing, cross domain vehicle testing and hardware planning, strengthen collaboration with internal and external stakeholders. Build up strong relationship with HQ, BBAC. Develop the vehicle resource planning process for dedicated calines to fulfill the requirement of China specific test cases. Lead and oversee project development from the perspective of overall vehicle testing and hardware planning.
• Bachelor’s degree in mechanics, automotive engineering or relevant, master’s degree is preferred, 5 years working experience.
• Experience as a project manager, commodity group leader, module group speaker, etc.
• Experience in RD, e.g. vehicle launches, project steering, component, function or system development, etc.
• Detailed understanding of MBC internal processes, e.g. MDS future.
• Deep connection to RD/V organization in Germany (powerful network is a plus).
• Chinese native speaker with fluent English language skills, German language skills very beneficial.
• Strong leadership ability to coordinate with cross-functional teams.
• Excellent communication skills (convincing, conflict solving, etc.)
