Objective of job
The Product Strategy team is a pivotal organization within MBGC, responsible for steering future strategic topics across vehicle projects, car portfolio, intelligence and E/E architecture, and drive systems strategy and portfolio.
The team ensures seamless cross-functional coordination from strategy to execution, working closely with both global and local teams. By aligning technological trends and innovations, market needs, and corporate objectives, the team’s deliverables directly shape the future product lineup, driving both global and local initiatives for long-term success.
Task description
Strategic Project premises setup, including but not limited to:
- Product portfolio and scope, target market etc.
- Overall timeline and delivery target
- Overall cost / profitability target setup
- Overall localization target setup
- Overall partnering strategy
Management and Steering of Strategic Project executions, also to secure transparent and highly efficient info / decision flow, including but not limited to:
- Project organization setup
- Project key milestone & deliverables
- Project key financial premises and steering
- Project steering / management tools and method transparency
- Project / Product core KPI measurement
Design and management of needed internal and/or external consulting services, including but not limited to:
- Needed consulting scope, especially regarding project needed financial or partnering benchmark scouting
- Consulting services pitch and procurement processes
- GR and quality validate
- Translate consulting result into valid strategic decision input
Top-down or bottom-up ad-hoc strategic topics analysis & report generation, including but not limited to:
- Core market competition driven strategic analysis, partnering analysis and financial impact, and their implications to MB;
- Data driven / Customer feedback driven etc. ad-hoc strategic topics
Management presentations, including but not limited to:
- CN: MBCC level presentations
- CN: PBC to PSCN level presentations and alignment
- HQ: BoM, AMP level presentations prep
- HQ: PSB, PS-X level presentations and alignment
Qualification
- Extensive experience in automotive and intelligence system project/program management, demonstrating seniority and leadership in complex environments.
- Profound knowledge of business administration, business models, and business case development, with a strong focus on the automotive industry.
- Proven ability to understand advanced technologies and translate them into actionable business and product strategies.
- Exceptional capability in setting up and steering complex organizational structures and processes, delivering strategic projects deliverables fulfilling top management expectations even with unprecedent approaches and challenges.
- Demonstrated excellence in generating strategic narratives and delivering high-impact presentations to top management.
- Well-established network within Mercedes-Benz HQ and China, with outstanding skills in conflict resolution, cross-functional alignment, and collaborative leadership.
