Position Title: Network and System Engineer
Division: Administration
Supervisor: Director of Technology

Position Summary: At the direction of the Director of Technology, and in collaboration with other Tech Department staff and staff in other departments, this position assists with managing the school IT network, installing, and maintaining IT servers and systems, and supporting users etc.

QUALIFICATIONS

• Bachelor degree in technology-related discipline
• CCNA Certified
• MCSE Certified, preferred

EXPERIENCE

• 5 years minimum experience in IT customer services to end users.
• 3 years minimum experience in Cisco network managing
• 3 years minimum experience in Windows/Linux server managing.
• Experience with IT environment of international schools, preferred.

SKILLS

• Highly skillful at using Cisco networks, Windows servers, Linux servers, VMware vSphere
• Knowledgeable about Microsoft 365 (Azure, Exchange, Security)
• Strong communication skills in both English and Chinese
• Strong organizational and time management skills
• Effective communicator – communicates well within a multi-cultural community

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Inspect the school server rooms daily and maintain the cleanliness
• Maintain the configuration, backup, and management of IT infrastructure equipment such as switches, routers, firewalls, etc. Handel the fault quickly and effectively when occurs in the equipment
• Update and maintain various school systems, such as Windows and Linux application servers, Microsoft Azure, Exchange Online
• Manage data backup and recovery of the entire application environment to protect the security of business data
• Collaborate with and support other staff regarding the use of applications
• Support users of relevant software: train, answer usage questions, and troubleshoot problems
• Solve technical problems both on-site and remotely
• Develop, document, and maintain data management guidelines
• Support the annual IT security audit, fix the system vulnerability issues
• Other duties as assigned
