We are currently seeking an experienced professional to join our team in the role of Associate Director, Software Engineering.
Business: Wealth & Prem Solutions Tech
Principal responsibilities
- Drive for OKR delivery across Value Stream and provide thought leadership
- Ensure the alignment to HSBC data strategies and lead towards achieving strategic aims for iWPB API Tech
- Influent strategy/decision making and shape the delivery approach, building stakeholder buy-in around plans, commitments and changes-
- Accountable for the delivery, governance & reporting to stakeholders including business & technology
- Build trusted senior stakeholder relationships. Confidence to constructively challenge the agenda in order to help the business and technical teams deliver maximum value for each $ invested as well as cost optimization
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams internally and external technology suppliers/3rd party vendors
- Work across business and technology to ensure effective controls and compliance in place and in line with the Business Transformation Framework
- Ensure Technology Practices and associated tools are being adopted and adhered to drive for continuous improvement of SRE (DORA, Resilience and Reliability)
- Act as a leader for high-performance culture and team growth
Requirements
- Possess a proven track record of driving strategic transformation initiatives, effectively translating strategy into actionable plans and ensuring successful implementation and adoption.
- Strong solutions architecture and engineering hands-on experience with complex enterprise solutions.
- Good understanding of design on micro-service and containerization.
- Strong experience delivering scalable solutions in finance industry area.
- Familiar with over 2 programming language, like Java/Python/Golang/Node.js and relevant Design Patterns and databases including relational DB and NOSQL DB.
- Capability of using and extending common open frameworks (e.g. Spring, Tensor Flow, etc.)
- Capability to build up and setup PoC Environment rapidly with Cloud, Container, etc.
- Full stack software engineering capability including front-end, middleware, backend is a must.
- Strong communication skill in both verbal and written form; capability of delivering effective presentation to teammates and external and internal stakeholders.
- Commitment to assigned task, attention to details and willing to dedicate efforts.
- Experience of working in a DevOps focused environment and working in an Agile Team. Flexible and adaptable in accommodating change of requirement and willing to take new responsibilities when necessary.
