Key Duties & Responsibilities
1. Review all QA/QC procedures of the Contractors to determine their compliance with the requirements of their respective Contracts and their adequacy for their proposed application and to notify the Contractors accordingly
2. Review and approve, alter, amend or reject all Contractors’ inspection and test plans (ITP) as it deems appropriate to the nature and service of the items to be tested
3. Monitor the Contractors’ compliance with the QA/QC requirements of their respective Contracts
4. Review and as appropriate accept the Contractors’ hold, review and witness points in the construction programme relating to each ITP and also to permit inspection and testing of work prior to it being covered up to avoid incorporation into the Facilities of material and equipment with latent defects
5. Execute inspections of materials, equipment, cable laying, terminations, and instrument installations (e.g., transformers, switchboards, lighting systems)
6. Perform functional tests (e.g., loop checks, continuity tests, insulation resistance tests, instrument calibration)
7. Verify compliance with safety standards (e.g., hazardous area installations, ATEX/EEMUA codes) and project specifications
8. Issue Quality Records, Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs), and inspection reports .
9. Update as-built drawings and maintain detailed diaries of daily activities 13.
10. Witness tests, document results, and ensure traceability (e.g., calibration records, test certifications)
11. Ensure alignment with quality plans (e.g., ITPs, QCPs) and regulatory standards (e.g., API, NFPA)
12. Promote workplace safety (e.g., lockout/tagout procedures, hazardous material handling)
Requirements
1. 5+ years in mine/oil, power plants, or industrial construction, with exposure to high-voltage systems (e.g., switchgear, transformers) 19.
2. Familiar with Conveyor, pump, material handling equipment(such as stacker, reclaimer), crusher ect.
3. Proficiency in industry standards (e.g., BS/IEC/ISO/API/ATEX) and electrical codes (e.g., NEC, NFPA 70B) 1510.
4. Hands-on experience with instrument calibration (e.g., flow meters, pressure transmitters) and hazardous area installations
5. Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, or a closely related field.
