Job Description: Senior Legal Counsel
Responsibility
To provide strategic and practical legal advise to the Pfizer Worldwide Biopharmaceuticals (WBB) business;
To draft and review contract, agreement and other legal document;
to participate in commercial negotiation
To advise and handle M&A transactions, License in/out deal and other complex commercial arrangements;
To handle government investigation and queries, dispute, arbitration and litigation;
To prepare and conduct legal trainings tailor-made for business need;
To efficiently supervise and manage outside counsels;
Qualifications
Qualified attorney within Chinese jurisdiction General knowledge of Company /Commercial Legal environment and other general business related laws, rules and regulations. Familiarity with the healthcare/pharmaceutical industry; Solid knowledge of laws, regulations and policies in healthcare sector Good project management skills
Experience
Should possess at least 8 years of experience as a qualified attorney, preferably working in a top tier law firm, in-house position working closely with a business function.
Legal Knowledge and Skills
Being knowledgeable of legislation and regulations relevant to the Chinese healthcare and pharmaceutical industries and the provision of healthcare within China Having a creative and imaginative legal mind which will be able to identify legal opportunities for advancing Pfizer’s business priorities Being comfortable advising on interactions with Government officials, at local and national levels and other stakeholders
Management Skills
Superior written and verbal communication skills in both English and Chinese. Ability to understand and communicate complex issues clearly and concisely; ability to develop and deliver high level presentations to both internal and external audiences Strong organizational, analytical and problem-solving skills; ability to gather and critically evaluate information and prepare written documents that clearly and concisely identify the issues presented and their proposed resolution Strong interpersonal skills to confidently provide guidance to achieve goals through focused attention to detail; a consensus builder who is able to rally support for programs and strategies. Must be a person of high integrity, capable of maintaining principles under internal and/or external pressure and exercising sound judgment.
