三、工作目标与职责:
Work Targets and Responsibilities
具体工作内容:
Specific Work Content
1. General Responsibility
Strategic Sourcing & Market Intelligence
• Conduct continuous market research to identify new suppliers and manufacturing trends in China for steel fabrications, aluminum components, and electronic parts.
• Proactively scout for alternatives to current suppliers to mitigate risk, reduce costs, or improve technology.
• Maintain a deep understanding of raw material price trends (steel HRC/CRC, aluminum LME) and electronics market dynamics (lead times, allocations).
2. Supplier Relationship Management (SRM)
• Build and maintain strong, long-term relationships with key suppliers to secure capacity, prioritize our orders, and foster collaboration.
• Conduct regular business reviews with the strategic supply base, evaluating performance on cost, quality, and delivery.
• Monitor supplier financial stability and operational capacity to ensure long-term reliability.
3. Contract & Commercial Management
• Lead commercial negotiations for both prototype and series production, including pricing, payment terms, minimum order quantities, and lead times.
• Draft and manage framework agreements, NDAs, and quality agreements in alignment with Chinese legal requirements.
• Ensure all contracts include clear quality KPIs, penalties for recurring defects, and incentives for zero-defect deliveries.
4. Cross-Functional Communication & Reporting
• Act as the primary interface between suppliers and thechinese entity and German HQ (R&D, Production, and Quality).
• Provide regular reports to management on sourcing progress, market trends, supplier performance, and risk assessments.
• Translate technical and commercial requirements accurately between Chinese and German engineers and Chinese suppliers.
Specific Responsibility
具体职责
1. Prototype & New Product Introduction Support
• Agile Prototyping: Secure suppliers capable of handling quick-turnaround prototype orders for single pieces or small batches, often with incomplete documentation or iterative design changes.
• Engineering Bridge: Facilitate direct technical communication between Chinese and German R&D engineers and Chinese supplier technicians to solve prototyping challenges (e.g., tooling adjustments, material substitutions) without delaying development timelines.
• Sample Management: Coordinate the entire sample process—from initial RFQ for prototypes to first-article inspection reports, ensuring fast and precise feedback loops.
2. Supplier Qualification & Quality Integration (Collaboration with Quality Team)
• Technical Translation: Translate German technical standards (DIN standards, welding specifications – e.g., EN 1090, ISO 3834) into clear requirements for local suppliers.
• Joint Audits: Coordinate and lead supplier audits alongside the internal Quality team to assess manufacturing capabilities, quality control systems, and production capacity.
• For Steel Structures: Specifically review weld procedures (WPS/PQR), assess distortion control methods, and ensure NDT (Non-Destructive Testing) capabilities are in place.
• For Surface Treatment: Audit supplier finishing lines for painting (ISO 12944), galvanizing, and anodizing, verifying surface preparation standards and quality control measures.
3. "Zero Mistake" Culture Implementation
• Supplier Screening: Pre-screen potential suppliers for their quality culture, looking for evidence of Poka-Yoke (mistake-proofing) systems, thorough documentation, and proactive defect prevention.
• Qualification: Rigorously assess suppliers' Quality Management Systems during onboarding. Reject suppliers who rely on final inspection to catch mistakes rather than building quality into the process.
• Continuous Improvement: Where suppliers fall short of the "Zero Mistake" target, work with them and the Quality team to implement corrective actions and preventive measures (8D reports, root cause analysis).
4. Technical Cost Management
Should-Cost Modeling: Use your technical knowledge to build should-cost models for:
• Machined aluminum parts (machine hours, material yield, surface treatment).
• Welded steel fabrications (material weight, cutting length, welding seam volume, painting cost).
• Electronic assemblies (component costs, assembly complexity, testing).
• Negotiation Strategy: Develop negotiation strategies based on should-cost analysis, ensuring you never overpay and can justify pricing to German stakeholders.
• Value Engineering: Identify opportunities for cost reduction through design optimization, material substitution, or process improvement, and propose these to the engineering team and supplier feed back.
3. Other tasks
Other tasks moderately required by material manager
