As part of our strategic expansion, we are venturing into the overseas engineering project sector, with a current focus on petrochemical engineering projects. We are seeking an experienced engineering professional to lead this new business initiative and drive its growth.
Job Summary
We are looking for a Mechanical Engineer with a strong technical background, preferably in petrochemical equipment. In this role, you will act as the key technical liaison, representing the company in communications with upstream Chinese equipment manufacturers and downstream overseas owners. You will translate technical requirements, support business negotiations, and ensure that our overseas owners' needs are accurately conveyed and met by our supply chain partners.
Key Responsibilities
1. Supplier Sourcing & Evaluation: Identify, evaluate, and recommend suitable domestic suppliers and equipment manufacturers for overseas owners (primarily in the petrochemical engineering sector).
2. General Contractor Recommendation: Source and recommend qualified general contracting (EPC) companies in China that meet the technical and commercial requirements of overseas project owners.
3. Project Matching: Analyse overseas owner project specifications and match them with appropriate domestic resources, ensuring technical compatibility and cost-effectiveness.
4. Vendor Relationship Management: Build and maintain strong relationships with potential suppliers and EPC partners to ensure reliable project support.
5. Market Intelligence: Stay updated on industry trends, pricing, and capabilities of domestic engineering and equipment providers.
6. Business Travel: Conduct short-term overseas business trips as needed to meet with owners, understand project requirements, and support business development efforts.
7. Cross-functional Coordination: Work closely with internal teams to align sourcing strategies with company objectives and owner needs.
Qualifications
1. Education & Experience
1.1 Bachelor's degree or higher in Engineering (Petrochemical, Mechanical, Chemical, or related fields preferred).
1.2 5–10 years of work experience in engineering, project management, or technical sourcing roles.
1.3 Background in petrochemical, oil & gas, or industrial engineering sectors is highly preferred.
2. Technical Knowledge
2.1 Understanding of engineering project lifecycles and procurement processes.
2.2 Familiarity with equipment and materials used in petrochemical or industrial projects is a strong advantage.
2.3 Basic knowledge of EPC project models and supplier evaluation.
3. Skills & Competencies
3.1 Strong analytical and research skills to assess supplier capabilities and project requirements.
3.2 Excellent communication and negotiation skills to interface with suppliers and overseas owners.
3.3 Ability to work independently and take ownership of new business initiatives.
3.4 Proficiency in MS office software (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
4. Language
4.1 Fluent in English (both written and spoken) to communicate effectively with international owners.
4.2 Mandarin Chinese (native or professional proficiency).
