Level: Full time – Experienced/Mid-Senior Inspector

Role Purpose
The Quality Inspector – Machining, Welding Assembly & Pressure Testing is responsible for verifying product conformity throughout the manufacutirng process. The role ensures compliance with engineering drawings, welding procedures, inspection and test plans (ITPs) and applicable codes and standards, supporting safe, compliant and reliable product delivery.

Key Responsibility
1. Welding and Cladding
· Inspect welding activittes in acocordiance to approved WPS, PQR, and welder qualifications
· Verifying cladding, joint preparation, fit-up, preheat, interpass temperature and comply with weld requirements
· Perform visual welding inspection (VT) and review NDT (as required)
· Review and verify welding documentation nd traceability

2. Machining Inspection & In-Process Control
· Inspect machined components from turning, milling, drilling, grinding and CNC operations.
· Independently determine suitable gages and metrology in verifying accuracy against drawings, GD&T, tolrances and surface finish requirements.
· Interpret engineering drawings, welding symbols, GD&T, matrial specifications, and inspections requirements.
· Independently identify process discrepancies at vendor’s location and escalate to Enginering and Quality
· Perform/witness dimensional inspection using micrometers, calipers, bore gauges, height gauges, dial indicators, surface roughness testers and thread gauges.
· Operate and and interprete CMM systems and program for complex and tight-tolerance components.
· Analyze CMM results and communicate findings to Engineering and Quality.

3. Assembly and Testing (optional)
· Inspect mechanical assembly activities including:
o Component fit up and aalignment
o Torque application and fastening
o Clearance, function and rotational checks
· Witness and inspect pressure testing, verify setup, calibrated instructument, pressure levels, hold time and acceptance criteria
· Review and approve manufacturing records and reports.

4. Non-Conformances Cotnrol & Dcomentation
· Raise and document NCRs
· Support cause analysis and corrective actions
· Maintain complete and accurate inspection and test records

Qualification and Experience
· 5+ years of hands-on experience as Quality Inspector in precision manufacturing directly related to machining, welding, mechanical assembly and pressure containing equipment (Aviations, Oil & Gas is preferred)
· Certification in Welding Inspection (CSWIP, AWS CWI) and NDT are highly desirable.
· Certification as Level 2 NDE inspectors of various techniques are highly desirable.
· Proficient in manual metrology tools and CMM operations/programming
· Strong ability to interepret engineering drawings, GD&T and welding symbols
· Strong command and understand of document written in English.

Key Skills and Competencies
· Clear oral and written communication skills (English)
· Dimension inspection gauge and CMM programming
· ASME Section IX, API or DNV for Welding and pressure testing

Travel Requirement – Medium (20% per month on need basis) within China


1. Could you clarify whether the inspector is expected to program CMMs independently, or mainly run existing programs? Are the components typically complex or tight-tolerance? Hazel: The inspector is expected to have experience using CMM and able to audit the program. The inspections are to be done by Vendor’s inspector. BH inspector is expected to ensure the program is good and the inspection is done correctly. The component have pressure sealing area. Understanding of GD&T (what it means and how to measure) and reading the drawing is very important.
2. Is the inspector expected to perform NDT techniques (e.g., PT, MT, UT) on-site, or primarily review and verify reports from third-party inspectors?
Hazel: The inspection is to be done by Vendor’s QC. BH QC is expected to understand the technique based on experience and should have L2 Certification. BH QC is there to ensure Vendor are putting NDE controls and inspection in place.
3. What does English proficiency look like in practice—reading drawings and procedures only, or also writing reports and communicating with global teams?
Hazel: English Reading (Proficient) - drawing, procedures and specs. Speaking (medium) – able to communicate to APAC team. Writing (medium) – able to write non conformance with clarity, minimal report writing.
4. organizational structure of the team
Report direct to Regional Quality Leader.
He will be placed at Vendor’s site representing BH. These vendors produces key component for BH. Hence we are looking for a person who has high professional conduct and independence.
The role requires ability to work autonomously, maintain objectivity in interaction with vendor personnel, and make clear and firm acceptance decision based on requirement and quality standards.
He/she should demonstrate a diligent and inquisitive approach to verification activities to ensure full compliance is met.
5. Business trips frequency
10%. Mainly within Jiangsu province.
6. Is the work location in Suzhou?
Zhangjiagang and Nanjing.
