Key Qualifications & Requirements

Education & Professional Background

• Bachelor's degree or above in Civil Engineering, Construction Engineering, Pharmaceutical Engineering, Environmental Engineering, Safety Engineering, or Project Management

• Professional background in EHS (Environment, Health & Safety) disciplines

Technical Expertise

• Comprehensive knowledge of all phases of construction site management

• Ability to coordinate and communicate effectively with contractors and subcontractors at all levels based on site management requirements

• Proficient in applying EHS-related laws and regulations to construction projects, particularly during the design phase with ongoing tracking and implementation throughout project lifecycle

Quality & Management Systems

• Formal training in ISO 9000, ISO 14000, and OHSAS 18001 standards

• Proven experience in construction site safety management

• Thorough understanding of construction site safety management systems and regulatory requirements

• Demonstrated ability to establish and implement safety management systems

Core Competencies

• Strong skills in documentation preparation, coordination, communication, and problem-solving

• Excellent interpersonal relationship-building abilities

• Capable of engaging with multiple stakeholders in construction site management

• Proficient in Microsoft Office suite

Language Requirements

• Business-level English proficiency

• Ability to deliver reports and presentations in English or Japanese

Professional Experience

• Minimum 5 years of experience as a Construction Safety Manager or equivalent role

• Minimum 3 years of management experience within an EHS department

• Hands-on experience in building and implementing safety management systems

• Experience managing construction projects exceeding 50,000 square meters

• Minimum 5 years of EHS-related work experience

Key Responsibilities

• Ensure compliance with relevant laws and regulations while maintaining normal business operations

• Provide EHS input during project design phases and track implementation throughout construction

• Coordinate with various parties on construction sites to maintain safety standards

• Oversee quality and environmental management systems
