Category Merchandiser
Position Overview
As the category merchandiser, you are the strategic driver for the commercial success of our product lines. You will work closely with the product development and sales team to build compelling assortments that meet functional demands and lifestyle needs, generate deep insights, and deliver exceptional business results. Independently conduct supplier identification and evaluation, analyzing capabilities, capacity, and compliance to ensure an optimal fit. Manage day-to-day vendor relationships, oversee the onboarding of new suppliers, and contribute to continuous performance improvement.
Responsibilities
Conduct continuous market, trend and consumer analysis, translating insights into actionable products and merchandising recommendations.
Leverage existing supplier networks and actively develop new sourcing resources to support business growth.
Build and maintain strong, long-term relationships with key suppliers to ensure favorable terms and reliable supply.
Collaborate with sales and marketing teams to align sourcing strategies with customer needs and sales targets.
Monitor supplier performance, including quality, delivery timelines, and compliance with company standards.
Negotiate pricing, payment terms, and MOQs to optimize cost efficiency without compromising quality.
50-80% travel for market and factory visit
Qualifications & Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, International Trade, or a related field.
Minimum 5 years of experience in sourcing, procurement, or product development, preferably in consumer goods, housewares, or soft goods.
Proven track record of managing supplier relationships and expanding supply chain networks.
Existing network of domestic suppliers for thermal cups, food containers, and/or related products is a must.
Experience in international trading or export-oriented procurement is a plus.
Strong negotiation and communication skills.
Ability to analyze market trends and identify product opportunities.
Excellent relationship management and networking abilities.
Familiarity with quality control standards and logistics processes.
Self-motivated, results-driven, and able to work independently.
Fashion, design, graphics work knowledge a plus.
Experienced with retail product development.
English and Mandarin Chinese language proficiency.
