Position Overview
We are seeking an enthusiastic, reflective, and innovative Middle School English Teacher who is passionate about working with adolescent learners. The ideal candidate thrives on designing creative, student-centered lessons, values both structure and flexibility, and is committed to fostering a love for language and literature in a diverse classroom environment. Teachers with High School experience and qualifications are also encouraged to apply; we welcome those who can bring cross-level insight and pedagogical depth.
主要工作职责 Essential Responsibilities
1. Teaching & Learning
a) Deliver a dynamic, engaging English curriculum aligned with school standards and frameworks, while demonstrating a strong capacity for curriculum innovation and development.
b) Design and implement lessons that balance inductive and deductive teaching approaches, allowing students to discover language patterns and rules while also receiving explicit instruction.
c) Integrate technology meaningfully into daily instructions to enhance learning, collaboration, and student engagement.
d) Organize and lead well-structured, interactive classroom activities that promote critical thinking, collaboration, and active participation.
e) Use the CEFR framework to inform teaching, track language progression, and provide targeted support for learners at different proficiency levels.
2. Assessment & Progress Monitoring
a) Design and implement a range of formative and summative assessments that accurately measure student learning and language development.
b) Provide timely, specific, and actionable feedback to students to support their growth and self-reflection.
c) Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of student progress, using assessment data to inform instruction and differentiate learning.
d) Use assessment results to communicate student progress clearly to parents, guardians, and administrators.
3. Student Development, Classroom Culture & Family Partnership
a) Demonstrate a genuine love for working with students aged 11–15, building strong, respectful, and supportive relationships.
b) Practice firm but caring classroom management, holding students to high expectations while nurturing their confidence and growth.
c) Respect and celebrate student diversity, adapting instruction to meet varied learning needs, backgrounds, and strengths.
d) Believe in and actively work toward unlocking each student’s full potential, using differentiated instruction to ensure all learners are appropriately challenged and supported.
e) Maintain proactive, professional, and timely communication with parents and guardians, providing regular updates on student progress, achievement, and areas for development.
4. Collaboration, Professional Growth & School Contributions
a) Act as a collaborator—working closely with the Head of English and other colleagues to ensure curriculum coherence and shared best practices.
b) Serve as a contributor to the wider school community, participating in departmental initiatives, professional development sessions, and school events.
c) Demonstrate a fast learner’s mindset, staying current with research on adolescent literacy, language acquisition, and innovative teaching practices.
d) Lead or co-lead student clubs, enrichment courses, or extracurricular activities that extend learning beyond the classroom and support student interests and development.
e) Undertake other duties and responsibilities as assigned by the Head of English or school leadership, contributing positively to the overall functioning of the school.
岗位要求Qualifications
1. Master’s degree in English, Education, or related field.
2. Teaching license (e.g., PGCE, QTS) .
3. Minimum 3 years’ experience teaching English to middle school students (ages 11–15).
4. Native/near-native English proficiency (CEFR C2 or equivalent).
5. Demonstrated ability to design and implement innovative, student-centered lessons.
6. Proficiency in integrating technology into classroom instruction.
7. Excellent classroom management skills with a focus on positive, productive learning environments.
8. Strong communication skills and experience in parent partnership and feedback practices.
9. Demonstrates openness to and respect for Chinese culture, with a genuine interest in learning and engaging with the local context.
10. Brings an international perspective informed by experience living, studying, or working in English-speaking contexts.
11. Respects and values diversity, demonstrating the ability to collaborate effectively with colleagues and students from a wide range of cultural, linguistic, and educational backgrounds.
