Please note that this role belongs to the Craghoppers brand under the company, reports directly to and collaborates with the UK Craghoppers Production team, and will require an interview and assessment by the Buying Director of Craghoppers
Role Purpose:
The role of the Assistant Merchandiser is to raise and monitor bulk orders and salesman samples with the aim to achieve deliveries on time KPI’s.
Impact:
Bulk Orders
- Responsible for Product set up & Trade Agreement generation before each season in Dynamic (D365) system (After handover from UK based planning and Buying team)
- Attend Buy Handover meetings to gain understanding of factory allocation before requesting handover dates. Negotiate with factories to ensure we achieve requested delivery dates.
- Raise all Purchase Orders after buy meetings in D365 system for Bangladesh and Chinese suppliers.
- Update PO data from buy minutes (projected) and after each buy (confirmed) on greige log
- Manage the CP for suppliers in Bangladesh, China and Combodia co-ordinating with QC team to ensure on time delivery
- Attend weekly CP meetings discussing the critical path and any issues including solutions
- Attend weekly Import/Planning meetings ensuring intake tracker is up to date with delivery schedules.
- Maintain DOT (Delivery on Time) with monthly figures reviewed
- Have awareness other team members critical paths
- Have awareness of greige stock levels for own suppliers and discuss with fabric merchandiser
Pricing
- After Pricing handover at start of season - monitor in season cost changes (surcharges/MOQ/fabric price changes etc) co-ordinate with buyers & Senior Merchandiser to ensure prices are agreed.
- Ensure Charge codes are input correctly and monitor through BI reporting (R173)
- Ensure Quotes in PLM or BPs are maintained to a high standard with clear commentary for any changes made.
Salesman Samples
- Bulk salesmen sample orders placed, monitored and coordinated with garment suppliers using the Dynamics system, with regular supplier communication and involvement in the problem-solving process and delays avoided.
- Weekly internal meetings held with the Buyer and Fabric Merchandiser to ensure all changes to SMS have been captured on garment orders and garment order CP’s are on schedule
- Work closely with Buying team to minimise costs on SMS transport
Buying Trip Preparation
- Trip arrangement – support Senior Merchandiser and UK based buying team with trip preparation.
- Generate and contribute to supplier delivery performance documents, including Gold/Silver/Bronze scoring sheet & supplier conference ‘Points of Discussion’
Systems
- Dynamics (D365) – use system effectively to raise and manage PO’s for bulk and SMS.
- BI reporting – awareness of relevant reports and how BI can impact reporting on KPI’s.
- Centric PLM – use system effectively to monitor SMS changes and approvals
Performance Indicators:
- Adherence to corporate calendar deadlines
- 90% deliveries on time for SMS and Bulk

Other Significant Role Requirements & Technical Knowledge:
Industry Understanding & Involvement
· Understanding of factory loadings/capabilities
· High level of knowledge on the suppliers' capabilities and production process
Experience
· Experience of working within a Buying office, preferably as a Production Controller or Merchandiser or equivalent with 1-2 years' experience
· Preferred experience working with overseas offices and brands
· Working to corporate calendar deadlines and lead times
Skills/Attributes

P&L ownership / Financial management
· All tasks are conducted with a consideration of possible costs incurred by the business
