Job Summary
Come join a creative reliability team committed to ensuring our products fulfill customers’ high expectations. This role is based in a reliability laboratory in China and focuses on planning and executing user research studies that inform reliability risk assessments and the test specifications used in reliability testing. You will work closely with a user research team based in the United States and with local engineering and technician teams to run in-lab studies, ensure high-quality data capture, and deliver clear summaries that translate user behavior into actionable engineering requirements. The ideal candidate brings hands-on lab capability, strong research and analytical rigor, and clear bilingual communication.
Key Qualifications
Must have
• Strong communication skills in both Chinese and English (written and verbal), including the ability to read and understand technical documents in both languages
• At minimum 2 years of experience in a related field (for example: user research operations, reliability testing, product validation, human factors, test engineering support, or lab-based research)
• Experience working with human participants or internal users in a structured research setting (for example: usability studies, field trials, internal evaluations, or lab-based user research)
• Demonstrated analytical and statistical thinking, with experience turning study data into clear insights and recommendations
• Comfort working hands-on in a laboratory environment and following detailed procedures to execute studies and experiments safely and consistently
• Experience using common lab equipment and tools (for example: cameras, microscopes, environmental chambers, measurement tools, data logging setups)
• Strong organizational and detail-oriented skills when managing multiple workstreams, study schedules, devices, and documentation
• Ability to respond to changing priorities quickly and efficiently; thrives in a fast-paced environment
• High standards for data quality, documentation, and repeatability, with the ability to produce clear summaries and reports
Nice to have
• Familiarity with statistical and data analysis tools such as JMP, R, Tableau, or similar analytics and visualization software
• Experience with survey design or survey programming tools, including building questionnaires and managing response data
• Working knowledge of reliability test concepts and how user behavior can translate into test requirements
• Experience collaborating with overseas teams and coordinating work across time zones
• Strong presentation skills (for example: building clear slides in Keynote or PowerPoint for
technical audiences)
Education
• Bachelor’s degree or above in a relevant field such as human factors, psychology, industrial engineering, mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, materials science, or a related discipline
