The Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank (AIIB) requires the services of a Multimedia Assistant with a substantive portfolio of professional film works (both professional capturing of footage [field production] and editing of film [postproduction]). The assistant will report to the Senior Multimedia Officer.
Instructions and communications in AIIB are in English. Candidates must be able to communicate well and must be deadline- and client-oriented. Essential attributes include: Ability to strictly follow AIIB’s filming guidelines, visual creativity, imagination, professionalism, initiative, punctuality, observation of deadlines, and dedication to completing projects with quality and on time.
Responsibilities:
►Assist AIIB in furthering its Mission of Financing Infrastructure for Tomorrow by creating communication-driven films that visually demonstrate the work and mission of AIIB.
►Contribute to the creative filming process, including preproduction (conceptualization). All outputs of the Multimedia Assistant must follow AIIB’s Filming Guidelines and as directed by the Senior Multimedia Officer.
►Provide creative and technical filmography input and design recommendations on projects.
►Conduct production (filming) and postproduction (editing) independently with little or no intervention.
►Manage workload, expectations, deadlines and priorities of all film requests.
►Collaborate with COM and with external agencies, as needed, on creating films.
►Organize the hiring unit’s film assets in the AIIB network.
Requirements:
►Film/Video Software Proficiency: Must be proficient in capturing and editing film on video (production), using the latest practices in cinematography. Particular focus will be required on film editing (postproduction).
►Must be proficient in Adobe Premiere or Final Cut Pro, along with another of the latest mainstream video editing software (DaVinci Resolve, CapCut, etc.)
►Photography Proficiency: Must be proficient in photo editing software (such as Photoshop, Lightroom, Capture One, etc.).
►Technical Foundation: Proficient in video format conversion, resolution optimization, audio processing and visual language.
►Capable of independently completing the entire workflow of editing, color grading and subtitle packaging.
► Equipment Usage: Proficient in operating cameras from brands such as Sony, Canon, or Nikon, along with stabilizers for still and video photography, and capable of using professional microphones for audio recording.
►Aesthetics and Creativity: Possess the ability to perceive color, control rhythm and compose visuals, enabling secondary creative work based on scripts.
►Work Experience: Proficient in filming (video interviews, storytelling) and postproduction processes, with experience in documentary or promotional video shooting or postproduction. ►Capable of quickly completing postproduction work after shooting.
►Experience working with film production and external vendors.
►Knowledge in optimizing file sizes and image/footage quality for various physical digital screens, web publishing, mobile and other formats and media.
►Written and verbal communication skills in English are essential. Subtitles of AIIB films are in English, and these will have to be checked by the assistant before sending films for review.
►Deadline-conscious and responsive to clients, must be able to communicate project progress to clients and supervisors.
►Must have the ability to revise one’s work to make a film better along with the discipline to stick to agreed-upon delivery deadlines.
►Candidate must be one who perseveres, an analytical thinker, results-focused, dynamic, flexible, highly collaborative and team-oriented.
►Must be able to work under pressure, several revisions and strict deadlines.
►Candidate should maintain confidentiality and integrity, possess strong work ethics and trustworthiness and work accurately with good attention to detail.
The successful candidate is not allowed to outsource any AIIB filming project in part or in whole to third parties and is expected to already have the necessary software and hardware required to complete filming projects.
The Multimedia Assistant will collaborate with COM and AIIB colleagues on projects, develop impactful creative work and be a champion for the AIIB brand, following the AIIB Film Guidelines. The candidate must be able to communicate with COM Team members and internal clients, understand their requirements and translate requests into an effective design. This requires a working level knowledge of English, a high level of attention to detail, communication skills and tact.
All output of the Multimedia Assistant in the course of performing their duties with AIIB will remain property of AIIB, from the raw and native files to the processed source file to the final output. All output should be prepared by Multimedia Assistant depending on the eventual technology and format to be used, whether those files are optimized for the web, mobile, high-definition video, offset, digital or large format among other formats as needed. All source files and file/film versions will be turned over to the hiring unit as soon as each project is finished (uploaded to COM folders).
The successful candidate is not allowed to outsource the project in part or in whole to third parties. The Multimedia Assistant is expected to already have the necessary software and hardware required to complete the projects.
Additional skills that would be an advantage but not a requirement:
Knowledge in developing motion graphics and visual animations.
