POSITION QUALIFICATION SUMMARY:
In this role you will be a combustion expert of Application Technology team and be responsible for commercialization of Product Service offers (PSOs) in the field of Steel industries, with a focus on heating and reheating operations, particularly Linde’s REBOX PSO portfolio. This will require working closely with external customers, R&D, and Business Development personnel in Linde’s Regional Business Units (RBUs).
The successful candidate must demonstrate high levels of leadership capability, a focus on safety, strong verbal and written communication skills, a team-oriented focus, and an ability to find technical solutions that best meet the needs of the customer. The candidate must have strong execution and project management skills. Only individuals having industrial experience and having worked with implementing technologies in metallurgical industries will be considered.
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:
● Drive launch and replication of PSOs for the Steel industry globally.
● Support Linde’s business development for heating and reheating in the Steel industry.
● Assume ownership and product management activities of a portfolio of PSOs.
● Support Linde’s RBUs in various activities, ranging from hands-on on the ground at customer installations to conducting online trainings and seminars.
● Pursue and deliver on measurable targets.
● Work within and across organizational and company boundaries to plan, lead and coordinate commercialization activities.
● Evaluate customer data and prepare technical and commercial proposals.
● Understanding of Steel & Metals industries trends and demands.
● Mapping and identification of commercial opportunities.
● Work under minimal supervision with guidance only in the most complex situations.
● Drive commercialization from business development, evaluations, proposals, to commissioning and fine-tuning of heating and reheating installations.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Basic:
● Bachelor’s Degree and master degree preferred in Metallurgical, Chemical, Mechanical, or Industrial or Metallurgical Engineering (or other similar discipline) with more than 10 years of relevant industrial experience working in or with the Steel industry.
● Experience focused on the Steel industry, predominantly heating and preheating and hot-forming operations.
● Proven record of successfully commercially deploying technologies.
● Good fundamental knowledge of process design, unit operations, mass & energy balances, heat transfer, combustion and reaction engineering is essential.
● Good command of English and excellent interpersonal and strong communication skills.
● An independent and results oriented disposition with the demonstrated ability to successfully execute sales, marketing, and implementation projects in an industrial environment.
● Having a proven business acumen.
● Ability to travel domestically in China and sometimes internationally
● Deep knowledge of steel reheating operations
● Furnace engineering experience
● Experience from using furnace operation simulation software
Preferred:
● Deep knowledge of combustion processes
● B2B Sales experience
● Experience working in the Industrial Gases industry
● Industrial experience in Steel production
● International work experience
