Position Overview
The Project Manager, Storage Implementation, will lead the end-to-end management of storage-related projects, ensuring they are completed on time, within scope, and within budget. This role requires a blend of traditional project management expertise and technical knowledge of storage systems and data center operations.
Key Responsibilities
Project Planning & Execution: Define project scope, objectives, and deliverables; develop detailed project plans, timelines, and resource allocation schedules. Manage day-to-day project operations, tracking progress and managing project deliverables in line with the plan.
Storage Implementation & Migration: Lead infrastructure integration and migration projects across on-premise, cloud, and hybrid environments, ensuring minimal downtime. Oversee the design, deployment, and optimization of large-scale storage systems.
Risk & Issue Management: Proactively identify, track, and mitigate risks and issues related to project execution, compliance, and safety, developing contingency plans as needed.
Stakeholder Communication: Facilitate communication and collaboration among cross-functional teams (e.g., networking, security, operations, vendors) and stakeholders at all levels.
Budget & Quality Control: Manage project budgets and expenses, ensuring adherence to quality standards and industry best practices like PMBOK guidelines.
Qualifications & Skills
Required:
Experience: 5+ years of experience in project management, with a proven track record of successfully managing complex IT infrastructure or data center projects.
Technical Knowledge: Strong understanding of enterprise storage systems, data center infrastructure (electrical, mechanical, networking, power, and cooling), and cloud storage technologies (AWS/Azure).
Methodologies: Proficiency in project management methodologies (e.g., Agile, Waterfall) and tools (e.g., MS Project, JIRA, Asana).
Education: A bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Business Administration, or a related field.
Preferred:
Certifications: A Project Management Professional (PMP) or Certified Associate in Project Management (CAPM) certification is highly desirable.
Experience: Experience managing projects in an operational data center environment or with specific storage vendors (e.g., EMC, Dell, NetApp).
