Summary: The U.S. Mission in Shanghai is seeking eligible and qualified
applicants for the position of Administrative Assistant.
Work Schedule: Full Time (40 hours per week)
Duties: The Administrative Assistant provides a full range of support services to the entire Economic and Political Section (EP), to include travel planning, budgeting, timekeeping, and interpretation/translation. The Administrative Assistant leads on planning for VIP visits to Shanghai, including the Ambassador and Congressional Delegation (CODEL)s. The Administrative Assistant also serves as the primary Economic and Political Section (EP) liaison with the Shanghai Foreign Affairs Office, a key gatekeeper in the local system for all meetings and engagements.
Qualifications: All applicants under consideration will be required to pass medical and security certifications.
Experience and Education:
Requirement: FOR THE EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS APPLICANTS MUST MEET EITHER OPTION 1 OR OPTION 2 TO QUALIFY.
Option 1
EXPERIENCE: At least two years of professional experience working for government, international business, journalism, academia, or Non-Governmental Organization (NGO) is required.
EDUCATION: A bachelor's degree in political science/international relations, economics, business, communications, law, or related major is required.
Option 2
EXPERIENCE: At least four years of professional experience working for government, international business, journalism, academia, or Non-Governmental Organization (NGO) is required.
EDUCATION: At least two (2) years college or university studies (no specific field required) is required.
