Work as a product owner in IT for RD vehicle and Drive systems team. responsible for local product development, central product/project rollout and digital transformation strategy for RD future business. Work as tech front runner to drive and implement digital and AI based solutions for RD China business requirements.
As a Product Owner for Local development product (e.g. Homologation management platform), the candidate need to ensure the IT digital product fulfills MB IT development standard and IT security guidance, defines and delivers the end-to-end IT functions for RD homologation and certification management process. Work logically and systematically to translate China vehicle regulations requirement from business into a viable business model and IT product roadmap. Drive solid delivery planning and iteration schedules, allocating resources reasonably, tracking progress, managing system development risks, and adjust scope or plans as needed. Prioritize data availability and process improvement, enable BUs with digital tooling, analytics and reporting functions, and continuously refine the product based on QM/RZC user feedback and evolving business or regulatory updated requirements.
As Project Manager for global HQ RD system rollout to China, especially in PLM area, leads end-to-end project delivery with HQ paternal, translating local business requirements into clear specifications while adapting global solutions to local needs. Coordinate cross-functional teams (HQ, BU, IT, vendors), manage project schedule, budget, risks and quality, and ensure RD business readiness. The candidate needs to have strong stakeholder management skills, clear communication strategy in English and Chinese, project management skills (planning, tracking, issue escalation), Experience with system integrations, testing, cutover and post go live support are essential.
As Digitalization & AI Enabler with future RD strategy thinking, the candidate needs to forecast RD business digitalization requirement: identifying and prioritizing high value AI use cases, designing implementation approaches, and driving delivery with business, IT and data teams. Enable operationalize AI solutions (prototype to production), coordinate IT resources and vendors to ensure RD business unit’s needs are met, provide training and support to the business unit. In addition, you need to contribute strategic thinking and a roadmap based on future AI and digital capabilities, ensuring solutions are scalable, reusable, secure and aligned with regulatory and reuseable goals. You need to have deep technical understanding of AI/data platforms, and the ability to translate business problems into practical digital solutions.
• Education: Bachelor’s degree in IT or RD business-related fields
• Strong skills in business process analysis
• At least 5 years’ working experience in project management/IT product owner in automotive industry fields
• Experience in leading delivering large-scale IT projects or products for the automotive industry
• IT system agile development / waterfall development knowledge and experiences
• Excellent communication and influencing skills with high hierarchy stakeholder
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills for developing and designing solutions
• Passionate in learning & researching new technology (especially AI)
• know-how in automotive development process, automotive regulation and industry sustainability business is a plus
• Software skills: excellent in M365 copilot. PLM tools in automobile industry is a plus.
• Excellent written/verbal in English, German ability is a plus
