岗位概述 Position Summary
The target of this Chemical Engineer in the Next Generation Products Team is to drive sustainable ophthalmic lens manufacturing at ZEISS Vision Care in China by exploring green materials, improving processes and Life Cycle Assessments, and reducing the carbon footprint. The role requires expertise in polymer chemistry or chemical engineering, experience in green development projects, and strong communication skills in Chinese and English within an international team setup.

主要职责 Main Task
· Material Exploration: Investigate and characterize sustainable materials for ophthalmic lens manufacturing.
· Life Cycle Assessment: Enhance and expand Life Cycle Assessments for manufacturing processes and product portfolios.
· Process Improvement: Identify and implement strategies to enhance process sustainability, focusing on reducing energy, chemical, and resource consumption.
· Carbon Footprint Reduction: Plan, execute, and optimize processes to minimize the carbon footprint across the lens lifecycle.
· Sustainability Programs: Contribute to initiatives aimed at reducing carbon emissions and achieving sustainability and social responsibility targets.
· Product Development: Engage in product development projects and manage assigned work packages independently.
· Collaborative Partnerships: Work with external partners on green materials and recycling initiatives (also governmental).
· Roadmap Fulfillment: Support the achievement of ZEISS Vision Care’s product roadmap objectives.
· Innovation and IP: Conduct exploratory activities in green lens production, understand new IP trends, and secure own intellectual property.
· Team Integration: Collaborate effectively within an international team and report to the remote global team head.

Master’s degree or above
Polymer Chemistry or Chemical Engineering
工作经验/经历 Work Experience
· Proven hands-on experience in polymer chemistry
· Experience in green development projects
· Basic knowledge of the ophthalmic industry is preferred
· Familiarity with international work environments
专业知识/技能 Knowledge And Skill
· Deep understanding of polymer chemistry and chemical engineering, including manufacturing technologies and analytical methods.
· Proficiency in project management and problem-solving methodologies.
· Excellent communication skills in Chinese and English, both verbal and written.
· Competence in using collaboration software, data sharing tools, editing, and LCA calculation software.
