Position Summary
The Project Manager supports the planning and execution of collaboration projects between multinational companies (MNCs) and China-based innovation partners (biotech, research hospitals, academia, and CROs, etc). The projects will be focused on therapeutic target discovery, target validation, and early asset generation. Working under the guidance of the Head of Research Innovation , the Project Manager executes assigned responsibilities, drives day-to-day coordination, and helps ensure highquality, on-time delivery through strong project discipline and stakeholder communication.
Key Responsibilities
Project Execution & Coordination
• Execute assigned responsibilities to support day-to-day project delivery across multiple collaboration workstreams.
• Support development and maintenance of project plans (scope, timelines, milestones, dependencies, action tracking) and provide routine status updates.
• Track risks/issues and support mitigation planning; escalate items that may impact scope, timelines, or quality.
Meeting & Governance Support
• Organize recurring meetings (joint project team, sub-teams, and governance forums) including scheduling, agendas, minutes, and action logs.
• Maintain decision logs, deliverable trackers, and centralized project documentation in agreed repositories.
• Follow up on action items with internal teams and external partners to ensure closure.
Cross-Functional & Partner Interface
• Serve as an operational point of contact for internal functions (Biology, data science, legal, procurement, finance, etc.) and external partners.
• Support alignment on roles/responsibilities (RACI), communication cadence, and handoffs between teams.
• Help manage partner deliverables by tracking timelines, clarifying expectations, and identifying gaps early.
Preclinical Workstream Support
• Support scientific leader in mapping research strategy into executable tasks that may cover areas such as target discovery, validation studies, MOA experiments).
• Help ensure alignment on study objectives, success criteria, and go/no-go decision points, and that documentation is captured consistently.
• Coordinate data and materials logistics (as applicable) to support smooth execution of planned experiments.
Contracting, Documentation & Compliance Support
• Coordinate with Legal/BD and Procurement to support SOW development, change orders, milestone tracking, and deliverable acceptance documentation.
• Support compliance with confidentiality, data-sharing, publication, and third party oversight requirements by maintaining complete, auditable records.
Reporting & Knowledge Management
• Prepare concise weekly/monthly project updates summarizing progress, upcoming milestones, risks, and decisions needed.
• Capture and share lessons learned and best practices to improve future collaboration execution.
Required :
• Bachelor’s degree in life sciences, biomedical engineering, or related field.
• 1–3+ years of experience in project coordination/project management in pharma/biotech, CRO, or research settings (internships/co-ops acceptable with relevant scope).
• Exposure to preclinical R&D concepts (target discovery/validation and early discovery workflows).
• Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to manage multiple tasks concurrently.
• Proficiency in English and Mandarin (written and spoken).
• Strong communication skills and comfort working with cross-cultural, cross-company teams.
Preferred
• Experience supporting external collaborations (biotech, CRO, academia, platform partners).
• Familiarity with basic data management practices for research projects (file structure, version control, documentation discipline).
• Project management training/certification (CAPM or equivalent) is a plus.
