Job Responsibility:
Establish test bench, execute and develop test program for NPI products - 70%
●Collaborate with the design team from the early development stage to fully understand new product design concepts and test parameters, with a specific focus on manufacturing test feasibility and efficiency.
●Participate in the definition of manufacturing test flows, assess gaps between production line test capabilities and test requirements, and make data-driven decisions on purchasing or developing measurement equipment to ensure timely test station and bench setup.
●Execute manufacturing test plans under R&D guidance, take ownership of MFG test programs, drive continuous optimization, and proactively develop test programs independently where applicable.
●Work cross-functionally with the team to identify, troubleshoot, and resolve test issues or bugs during new product testing, ensuring full coverage of test items and stable test criteria throughout the sample build to pilot release process.
●Collaborate with design and product engineers to develop test kits and tools during sample bring-up, and provide quick verification support when required.
●Collect and analyze test data, complete test reports in accordance with requirements, prepare technical documentation, and transfer knowledge to the production team through operational training.
Verify and improve the test system & platform - 20%
●Verify in-house developed test solutions, covering hardware setup, functional completeness, and performance reliability.
●Verify commercial measurement equipment and develop necessary drivers to ensure seamless integration with test systems.
●Follow up with R&D on test platform (Hardware & Software) updates, monitor implementation effectiveness, including test capability, efficiency, throughput, and stability.
●Proactively contribute ideas and recommendations to enhance the robustness, reliability, and scalability of test systems.
Mass production test support- 10%
●Provide technical support for manufacturing line test capacity expansion as needed, ensuring smooth and efficient scaling.
●Support the resolution of test-related issues for legacy products in the manufacturing process.
Job Requirements:
●Bachelor’s degree in Optical Engineering, Physics, Electrical Automation, or an equivalent technical discipline from an accredited college or university is required; Master’s degree is preferred.
●Minimum 3 years of working experience in the fiber optics, optical fiber communication products, or related industry within a global organization.
●Proven track record in developing automated test programs for fiber communication sub-modules and line cards.
●Hands-on experience with C#, Python, SQL DB, and networked PC-based computer systems (Windows, Linux).
●Strong automation skills and familiarity with Visual Studio and Python.
●Familiarity with Oracle, SQL client/Server architecture, and proficiency in SQL language.
●Proficient in operating test instruments such as Optical Spectrum Analyzers (OSA), Power Meters, Optical Switches, Oscilloscopes, and Optical Network Analyzers.
●Ability to design and implement experiments, analyze test data, conduct in-depth root cause analysis for technical issues, and drive effective problem resolution.
●Strong prioritization skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and complex issues efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
●Excellent teamwork and communication skills, with the ability to collaborate closely with R&D and production teams to achieve common goals.
●A good understanding of optical fiber communication, optical transport networks, and related technologies is a plus.
