Program Strategy & Governance
•
Own the environmental responsible sourcing roadmap for suppliers (annual targets, workstreams, milestones).
•
Translate corporate sustainability goals (e.g., SBTi-aligned Scope 3 targets, zero waste, water stewardship) into supplier-facing strategies and operational plans.
•
Develop and maintain policies, standards, playbooks, and supplier requirements for environmental performance and reporting.
•
Establish governance: risk tiering, escalation paths, steering updates, and supplier recognition/incentive mechanisms.
Supplier Risk & Due Diligence
•
Run annual supplier CSR risk assessments and new supplier CSR risk assessments
•
Lead due diligence and onboarding environmental screens; integrate environmental criteria into responsible sourcing processes.
•
Manage audits/assessments (e.g., RBA environmental criteria, ISO 14001 audits, remote assessments, site visits) and drive CAP / AIMM to closure.
Scope 3 & Data Management
•
Own supplier environmental data collection (GHG emissions—especially purchased goods and services, fuel/energy, logistics; water; waste; packaging).
•
Validate data quality, assure against standards (e.g., GHG Protocol, and consolidate into internal systems for reporting but not limit to (EPEAT/EcoVadis/customer disclosures).
•
Partner with Global Sourcing Managers to embed environmental KPIs into supplier scorecards, QBRs, and sourcing decisions.
•
Support product-level PCF/LCA methodologies and supplier data enablement.
Regulatory & Customer Requirements
•
Understand & monitor operationalize environment-related regulations impacting suppliers (e.g., EU RoHS/REACH, PFAS restrictions, EU Packaging & Packaging Waste Regulation, Extended Producer Responsibility (EPR), batteries regulation, EU Deforestation Regulation (for applicable commodities), PRC/US/EU customs & environmental declarations).
•
Maintain evidence packs (declarations, audit reports) and ensure timely submissions for customer & regulatory due diligence.
Supplier Engagement & Capability Building
•
Design and deliver supplier training (GHG accounting basics, target setting, energy efficiency, renewable energy sourcing).
•
Lead Supplier Improvement Programs (SIPs): identify quick wins (e.g., energy efficiency), medium-term projects (renewable PPA/on-site), and longer-term transitions (process changes, material substitutions).
•
Drive collaboration with strategic suppliers to set SBTs, adopt ISO 14001/50001, and improve EcoVadis/CDP scores.
Cross-Functional Collaboration & Change Management
•
Partner with Global Sourcing to integrate environmental criteria into category strategies, RFQ templates, supplier selection, and contracts (e.g., clauses on GHG reporting, target setting, hazardous substances, packaging).
•
Prepare executive updates, dashboards, and improvement narratives for internal and external stakeholders.
