Position Summary:
The System Engineer - System Level has responsibility to specify and develop the component at system level requirements of the HVAC and thermal systems.
The position will work closely with the respective operational engineering teams and Global Purchasing to ensure optimal outcome in supplier integration and leverage.
Main Functions:
1. Develop specification and component SOW for components and systems to support system SOW and most cost effective design.
2. Design and Production Validation planning and definition.
3. Supplier technical management for HVAC and thermal systems' components.
4. Participation with project teams to ensure seamless component integration.
5. Develop and responsible for air conditioning system and thermal systems integration.
6. Actively participate in project design teams.
7. Undertake component and system design that achieves optimum solution to:
- Agreed specifications
- Performance
- Cost
- Quality
- Timing
- Ease of assembly / manufacture
- Service ability.
8. Undertake benchmarking and research best practice approaches.
9. Apply costing appreciation with regards to design constraints and development hours.
10. Regularly follow up and assess component information, design drafting and engineering, testing.
11. Undertake analysis and resolution of product problems.
12. Apply appreciation of tooling costs for a balance of tool design versus volume.
13. Develop design concept proposal and assist in cost analysis in response to RFQ.
14. Assist in warranty and quality analysis.
15. Report on design/development status at formalised project reviews.
16. Demonstrate awareness of project budget requirements and attempt to achieve or improve on these requirements.
17. Assist SQA / Plant QA with PPAP preparation for overall system for which the subcomponent is under the incumbents' responsibility.
18. Manage the manufacture of concept prototypes.
19. Schedule work load of assigned CAD resources.
20. Commission patent analysis.
21. Assess technological risks/gaps associated with the product.
22. Maintain appreciation of costing, manufacturing and assembly feasibility in design and development.

Selection Criteria
1. Bachelor degree in air conditioning, refrigeration or related, Master preferred.
2. 2 years' above solid experience in automotive HVAC system integration/testing and best practices at vehicle level.
3. Solid experience as HVAC and thermal systems expertise to support global projects for different vehicles.
4. On-hand experience in Heat Exchange on system level.
5. Oral and written English skills.
