As such, the Marketing Manager will work closely with PC Sales managers and the Commercial Manager to develop and implement PC product and pricing strategies, the commercial and the contracting strategies and the marketing plan.

Key Relationship(s)
The role will have vast interactions with CSPC internal (including commercial, R&D, Manufacturing, FN and all service functions) and external contacts (incl co-producers, customers, distributors and market intelligent agents etc.).
a. Understand volume and pricing dynamics in the PC market in the commodity and the differentiated products and in the CS markets including dynamics in each of the sectors and segments (i.e. automotive, construction etc) and build winning strategies to deliver value.
b. Gather and exchange market intelligence with the team, develop sustainable marketing and pricing guidelines and tactics for (daily/ weekly or monthly) price discovery and negotiation consistent with contracting and pricing strategy
c. Responsible for optimization of margin within and across geographies and in the portfolio by working closely with the logistics and the supply teams to ensure value is delivered from each account/ sale
d. Depending on the specifics, lead or support strategic and economic analysis, negotiation mandate preparation and negotiations for key customer contracts and co-producer deals, including intra and extra regional and global deals and exports
e. Actively seek for opportunities to grow value with existing and new customers by developing and structurally managing the opportunity pipeline, also developing and implementing targeted sales campaigns
2. Business Development - Develop fit-for-purpose, customer-needs driven, segment strategies, offers and growth opportunities and manage the implementation of various product and market development opportunities from identification until commercialization.
a. Market intelligence gathering and understanding : constantly monitor the product, pricing and technical developments in the PC/ CS market to be aware of opportunities to develop or threats to the portfolio
b. Identify growth opportunities in the market, verify & prioritize the development of business improvement opportunities by comparing netback/margin, market size, and capitalization value of each project; and set the timeframe & follow up for each project.
c. Liaise with Plant manager, the PC R&D and the PC Technical Service regarding manufacturing feasibility of various new product grades, quantify and propose to Commercial Manager and CSPC Management on any unit modification need.
d. Liaise with PC Production Scheduler & FNCP regarding the additive formulation, domestic availability and cost to purchase optimization.
e. Liaise with PC Business Analyst on project economics (additional margin & market size over the next 3-5 years, additional production cost, etc).
f. Manage the commercialization process of new grades with close coordination with PC Sales Managers.
1. Marketing activities
a. Create and drive a strategic marketing plan/ marketing strategy (incl. segmentation, go-to-market plans, value proposition development, competitive analysis, product portfolio) for major market segments to position CSPCL as the preferred PC/ CS supplier in the market.
b. Have a sound understanding of business cycle evolution and foresight and agility to adjust marketing strategy to successfully face the headwinds and leverage opportunities at recovery of the cycle.
c. Together with the Commercial manager and the Sales manager, develop the pre-marketing strategy
d. Market Intelligence: Furnish frequent updates on market evaluation, competitor analysis, new product potential, customer survey, etc.
e. Customer Management: Customer performance evaluation and classification.
Market Promotion activities and materials, e.g. seminar, exhibition, customer event, etc.
• A minimum of Bachelor’s degree (preferably in Chemical Engineering or Polymer Science), knowledge of domestic business/trading.
2. Work experience:
• Over 5 years marketing/sales management experience in the domestic Engineering Plastics/ Polycarbonates industry is advantage ; Good PC product knowledge and knowledge of the PC market is preferred.
• Experience with business development and marketing experience in the PRC PC industry is a plus.
3. Language proficiency:
Able to use English as working language.
4. PC skills:
• Competent in Microsoft Office.
