Job Overview
This role plays a key part in supporting project and business decisions through proactive cost modeling, margin analysis, and data-driven insights across the product lifecycle. The Industrial Engineer will work closely with cross-functional global teams to evaluate manufacturing scenarios, capital investments, and cost improvement opportunities, driving sustainable margin performance.
Responsibilities
1. Leading product cost estimates and margin analysis for NPD part numbers and assure optimal financial performance achievement by deep diving into cost elements like materials cost, conversion cost and various manufacturing scenarios analysis.
2. Proactively identify, collect, and analyze manufacturing and cost data; independently define analysis structure and assumptions when data is incomplete or non-standard.
3. Identify and support cost-saving opportunities for sustaining projects, including process optimization, tooling or equipment investments, capacity changes, and manufacturing footprint adjustments.
4. Build and maintain structured cost models to evaluate manufacturing scenarios, trade-offs, and cost-impact risks in support of technical and business decisions.
5. Calculate payback periods and payback for capital investments; prepare capital justification materials (CERs) and support management review and approval.
6. Track product cost and margin evolution across project gates (G1–G6), providing timely variance analysis and actionable insights to PMO and management teams.
7. Strong analytical mindset with the ability to independently structure, validate, and interpret complex datasets to drive actionable cost insights.
8. Develop and maintain standardized datasets or tools (e.g., cost models, templates, dashboards) to improve efficiency, consistency, and repeatability of recurring cost and performance analyses.
9. Support and participate in Lean / TEOA initiatives to improve productivity, cost performance, and operational effectiveness.
Position Requirements:
1. 3+ years of experience in manufacturing engineering, industrial engineering, or project cost–related roles within a manufacturing environment; candidates with finance backgrounds and strong hands-on manufacturing exposure will also be considered.
2. Solid understanding of manufacturing processes; experience with progressive stamping, injection molding, electroplating, and assembly is a strong plus.
3. Knowledge of industrial engineering methods, cost accounting, and financial analysis.
4. Strong analytical capability with the ability to independently structure cost analyses, challenge assumptions, and influence cross-functional teams using data.
5. Proven ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced manufacturing environment, with a proactive mindset and strong ownership.
6. Experience leveraging data automation or advanced analytics (e.g., automated cost models, dashboards) to improve efficiency and consistency in recurring cost, margin, and performance analysis; strong data analysis skills with solid proficiency in Excel, and experience with tools such as Power Query or VBA is a plus.
7. Proficient in spoken and written English
