What you’ll do:
This role leads and manages indirect procurement operations across manufacturing sites in China and the Philippines, with direct leadership responsibility for plant buyers. The position is accountable for the consistent deployment of Corporate Indirect Procurement strategies at site level, delivering sustainable cost‑out and cost‑avoidance results through strong plant partnership, effective supplier management, and robust procurement governance.
Through active supplier base management, continuous process optimization, and people capability development, this role enables compliant, efficient, and value‑driven procurement operations that support business performance, operational continuity, and continuous improvement across sites.
- Lead and manage indirect procurement operations across all indirect categories for 2 Philippines plants and 1 China plant, with direct line management responsibility for plant buyers, ensuring consistent execution, compliance, and service delivery across sites.
- Provide day‑to‑day leadership, coaching, and direction to plant buyers, including work prioritization, sourcing execution guidance, issue escalation support, and performance monitoring, to ensure timely and compliant procurement outcomes aligned with business needs.
- Align and deploy Corporate Indirect Procurement strategies at site level, with accountability for annual cost‑out and cost‑avoidance results, delivered through close collaboration with plant teams and effective leverage across a rationalized preferred supplier base.
- Build, rationalize, and actively manage the indirect supplier base covering the majority of spend, ensuring suppliers are governed through structured performance reviews, issue resolution mechanisms, and appropriate senior‑level engagement.
- Partner closely with plant leadership and cross‑functional teams (Operations, Engineering, Finance, EHS, etc.) to resolve purchasing and supply issues, support production continuity, and improve internal customer satisfaction.
- Collaborate with the Regional Category Manager to implement category strategies and support cross‑plant and cross‑manufacturing initiatives, including standardization, supplier consolidation, and program rollout.
- Continuously optimize indirect procurement processes, controls, and the supplier base to support business performance, with a focus on compliance, sourcing effectiveness, productivity improvement, and risk mitigation at site level; Review and manage indirect procurement performance through periodic reporting on spend, savings, and supplier performance to support decision‑making and execution alignment across sites.
- Develop buyer capabilities and succession pipeline by strengthening sourcing skills, commercial judgment, and execution rigor, while fostering a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement within the team.
- Bachelor’s degree required, preferably in Supply Chain, Business Administration, or Engineering; Master’s degree preferred.
- 10+ years of progressive experience in procurement, sourcing, or supply chain, preferably within manufacturing or industrial environments.
- People management experience, including leading plant‑based or geographically dispersed Buyer teams, preferred.
- Experience supporting multi‑site / regional operations; exposure outside China is an advantage.
- Indirect procurement category and commodity management, including bidding, benchmarking, cost analysis, and commercial negotiations.
- Supplier base development, rationalization, pre‑qualification, and ongoing management to ensure cost‑effective supply, consistent quality, and reliable service and delivery performance.
- Strong ability to work with technical requirements, including understanding specifications, product performance expectations, manufacturing processes, and end‑user needs.
- Hands‑on experience supporting and guiding buyer execution, including sourcing activities, supplier selection, and issue resolution at plant level.
- Solid understanding of company procurement policies, governance requirements, and commercial T&Cs, with experience monitoring and reporting compliance.
- Proficiency in applying digital procurement platforms and tools to improve efficiency and productivity (e.g., ESSP, GPS, SAP, DocuSign‑CLM, Costverse).
- Strong understanding of business and operational needs at plant and regional level, with the ability to translate them into practical procurement actions.
- Excellent stakeholder management, communication and influence skills, able to work effectively with user departments, SCM interfaces, and cross‑functional teams.
- Strong negotiation, supplier management, and issue‑resolution skills, with the ability to handle conflicts constructively.
- Strong English communication skills, enabling effective collaboration with regional and global stakeholders, plant teams, and suppliers across multiple countries.
- People leadership capability, including coaching buyers, building team capability, setting priorities, and driving consistent execution across sites.
- Strategic thinking combined with operational pragmatism, able to align with corporate direction while solving day‑to‑day issues at site level.
- Results‑oriented mindset, with a clear focus on cost, service, compliance, and delivery outcomes.
