Role Description
We are seeking a Project Manager to join our Researcher Service team in a full-time, mostly remote role based in Japan or China. The primarily goal of this role is helping researchers get their work published in peer-reviewed journals.
You will own the full delivery life cycle for customised research projects: manuscript development, systematic and scoping reviews, statistical analysis, publication strategies or scientific communication. You will oversee everything from feasibility assessment and expert matching through to delivery and margin review.
If you have worked in medical communications, publication planning, or a CRO environment and know what it takes to shepherd a manuscript from idea to acceptance, we want to hear from you.
What you will be doing:
Scoping and quoting custom research projects with a clear grasp of margin targets. Managing concurrent projects end to end in Monday.com. Matching the right freelance scientific experts to each project and reviewing their work. Collaborating with a tight-knit, multicultural team across Japan, China and beyond. Fielding queries from authors and research institutions in English. Identifying workflow problems and solving them before they become client problems.
What we are looking for:
Experience delivering custom scientific or medical writing projects on behalf of others. A genuine understanding of how peer-reviewed publication works. Commercial literacy: margins, pricing, project economics. Full professional fluency in English. Based in Japan or China with the right to work there. Clinical or biomedical background preferred.
Nice to have: experience with pharmaceutical or healthcare clients on publication deliverables. Japanese or Mandarin language skills.
