Laboratory Technician - Marine Biology Research Lab

Job Description

We are seeking a motivated laboratory technician to assist with the maintenance and operation of a marine aquarium system and the care of marine invertebrate animals used for research.

Responsibilities include:

• Maintenance and cleaning of aquarium and filtration systems
• Animal care, feeding, cleaning, and monitoring animal health and behavior
• Assisting with scientific research, experimental follow-up, sample preparation, and data collection
• Supporting routine laboratory activities and helping maintain research colonies

The position will begin as part-time and is expected to transition to full-time as the animal colonies expand.

The role will also require occasional trips to Qingdao for animal collection and related research activities.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in biology, marine biology, aquaculture, or a related field
• Good English communication skills
• Ability to work independently and responsibly
• Willingness to travel when needed
• Ability to think scientifically, follow experimental procedures, and solve technical problems independently
